DELILAH DYSON
While taking a course in
photography at the Camden Institute Delilah developed a
technique which she calls ‘Solar Spectrum Photography,’
emerging as it did from her studies and her own fascination
with light and its relationship with form. While the exact
details remain a closely guarded secret, the technique can
be said to involve the capture of the rainbow spectrum of
color from natural sunlight without the use of filters,
digital or darkroom manipulation. What is seen in print is
exactly what Delilah sees through her lens and her
photographs are an invitation to explore the infinite
possibilities of perception.
Delilah Dyson was born in North London, where she lives and
works to this day. Her family was an artistic one and she
was educated at various leading stage schools, most notably
Corona and Arts Educational, and she went on to work as a
dancer. Having established and published her technique,
Delilah went on to complete an HND course at the City of
Westminster College. Delilah Dyson has exhibited widely in
London and her work is included in many private and
corporate collections, including Citibank Private Bank, UK.
Her portfolio can be seen as permanent feature in the
prestigious Print Room at the Photographers Gallery, Great
Newport Street. U.K., the foremost showcase for
photographers in Britain. |
