SCREENWRITERS
SHARON MCGEHEE
Sharon McGehee is a well-established and successful writer who has collaborated
with Chris Anderson on many projects which include biographies, screenplays,
documentary series, and stage productions in both New York and London.
Sharon McGehee and Chris Anderson worked together with Jake La Motta of Raging Bull
fame on the continuation of his biography, Raging Bull II (Lyle Stuart, 1986).
From this a film treatment has been developed, which is currently being optioned.
Sharon and Chris also
collaborated on the true crime biography, Bodies of Evidence,
(Carol Publishing, 1991; St. Martin’s Press, 1992)
which is currently still in print. This best-seller is about the trial of Judias Buenoano,
Florida’s serial murderess, the last woman to die in the electric chair in Florida.
Her death in 1998 marked the first woman to be executed in Florida since 1848.
A film treatment is available for this grisly tale which will no doubt prove as
successful as the recent Academy Award-Winning movie Monster.
JAMES HOUSTON TURNER
Novelist James Houston Turner has adapted his latest thriller, The Identity Factor,
into a high velocity geopolitical screenplay. Hollywood writer Joyce Irvine describes
the script as "smooth and complex, with twists and turns, an unusual and exciting plot,
and locations ranging from the familiar to the exotic. It would make a sensational movie."
The screenplay forms part of an exciting book/film package currently being marketed by Langtons
International Agency. Coverage is available on request.
In addition, Turner has written Big John - the triumphant true story of John Levi, a Native American
football player often compared with the great Olympic champion, Jim Thorpe. In fact, Thorpe once said of Levi,
"He's better than me." Set against the glitzy Roaring Twenties nightlife of Kansas City, when jazz was king,
gambling was rife and the nation was in the grips of Prohibition, Big John is a sports drama that is "guaranteed
to make the audience cheer for the Haskell team and especially the hero, John Levi" (Joyce Irvine).
Coverage is available on request.
SHARON MCGEHEE and EVIE MCMURRAY
Sharon McGehee and Evie McMurray, both members of the Writers Guild of America-the
international women’s writing guild-and the Dramatists of America, have co-authored
a highly original and classy script, Forever Robert,
which is reminiscent of the classic, Chinatown.
It is a contemporary psychodrama murder mystery set in Manhattan’s shabby chic
Chelsea and is available from Langtons International Agency.
MIMI STEINBERG and DALIA MOSS
Have developed a powerful and dramatic script together with Jack Lechner,
former head of production at HBO and Miramax film, A Call to Arms.
This full-length period drama is based on the remarkable true story of a
Prussian Jewish heroine who joins the Prussian army and takes up arms against Napolean.
She is the only woman ever to be awarded the Iron Cross of Valor.
